This summer, ZOV UK carried out a media project (in association with Radio Focus in Veliko Tǔrnovo), teaching children presentation skills and in the process learning about social and cultural issues, focusing particularly on their own identity and relationship with the community. The project was a great success, with four children taking part over two weeks, exploring a range of topics through story-telling and learning presentation skills, making news style vox pops. At the end of the project, a presentation of the work with Radio Focus was made to the rest of the children at the Penyo & Maria home. For the background information on the project, click here.

We've been working with Bogdanovo Boarding School for some time now, and this new page gives a full overview of everything we've done there, from providing warm blankets to school textbooks, and what we hope to do in the future, with proposed projects to improve the children's health, education and social welfare. ZOV UK has launched a new project, in collaboration with Radio Focus in Veliko Tǔrnovo, designed to help children at the Penyo & Maria Children's Home both to integrate with their local community and to learn more about both the media and the world of work. It builds on the work of the existing education centre in helping prepare children in orphanages for life and employment in the outside world.
