The ProblemThere are thousands of children in Bulgaria in severely underfunded institutions which are often in a serious state of disrepair, and unable to cater to the children's most basic needs. Click here for more detail.
ZOV UK's SolutionsZOV UK works to ensure that the children from these institutions get the support they need to avoid the bleak future that they might otherwise face.

Background
ZOV UK
ZOV UK is a registered charity working for improvement in the living conditions of orphans and other children in institutions in Bulgaria. We are one of the few charities working directly in Bulgaria, rather than simply providing money to third party projects in the form of grants. This means that we are well positioned through our local contacts to find out the projects which help the children the most, and to ensure that the money goes where it is intended. We believe that it is important to invest in projects which help children in the long term, through education and integration with society, to enable them to have a productive and happy life after leaving the orphanages; a chance which is sadly denied to most at present.
ZOV UK was registered as a charity in mid-2004, building on the work of OXAB, a university based group.
